Product Description
The OMEGA Speedmaster is one of OMEGA’s most iconic timepieces. Having been a part of all six lunar missions, the legendary Speedmaster is an impressive representation of the brand’s adventurous pioneering spirit.
This 50th Anniversary Limited Edition series of 1,957 pieces commemorates the birth of the Speedmaster collection. The watches feature a black enamel dial with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. A small seconds dial, 30-minute recorder and 12-hour recorder grace the dial along with a central chronograph hand.
The black bezel, with its tachymetric scale, is mounted on a 42 mm stainless steel case, and the watch is presented on a stainless steel bracelet. At the heart of this chronograph is the Co-Axial calibre 3201, a manual-winding movement that is visible through the transparent case-back.
The watch-box and certificate belonging to this watch were signed during a special event hosted by OMEGA: “THE SPEEDMASTER SERIES Conversations with a Moonwalker“ in Beverly Hills, November 2007. Signatures belonging to:
- Charles Moss Duke Jr. is an American former astronaut, United States Air Force officer and test pilot. As Lunar Module pilot of Apollo 16 in 1972, he became the tenth and youngest person to walk on the Moon, at age 36 years and 201 days.
- Thomas Patten Stafford (1930-2024) was an American Air Force officer, test pilot, and NASA astronaut, and one of 24 astronauts who flew to the Moon.
