The Calatrava

The Calatrava has been Patek Philippe's classic dress watch since 1932: a simple round case, a clean dial and nothing you don't need. It's where a lot of people start with the brand, and older references come in plenty of sizes and golds.

The Nautilus

Patek launched the Nautilus in 1976 with the steel Ref. 3700/1, a sports watch from a house known for dress watches. The porthole-shaped case and horizontal dial lines are still what people recognise from across the room.

The Aquanaut

A younger, more casual sports watch from the late 1990s, with a rounded octagonal case and a textured dial. The 5167 on the rubber strap and the 5164 Travel Time are two of the best known.

Calendars and complications

Annual calendars only need correcting once a year, at the end of February. Perpetual calendars go further and account for leap years. Both come with moonphases on many references, and they are a big part of what Patek is known for.

Vintage Patek Philippe

Older Calatravas, Ellipses and rectangular dress watches have a following of their own. Condition and papers matter a lot here, so see them in person and ask every question you have.
