Rolex Submariner

The Submariner has been Rolex’s dive watch since 1954, and it’s still the one most people ask for by name. We carry everything from vintage 5513s and 1680s to current 41mm ceramic models, in steel, two-tone and gold.

Date or no date?

The no-date Submariner (5513, 14060, 114060, 124060) has a cleaner, more symmetrical dial. The Submariner Date (1680, 16610, 116610, 126610) adds the date and the Cyclops lens. Both are rated to 300 metres.

Questions

What does a "ghost" bezel mean?

On older Submariners the aluminium bezel insert fades from black to grey, or blue to pale blue. Collectors often pay more for an evenly faded one.

Is a 16610 still a good buy?

It's one of the most reliable Submariners. Sapphire crystal and the 3135 movement make it an easy everyday watch, and it costs less than the ceramic models.
